Rome

After about 7 hrs on the plane we arrived at 12:35pm Italy time. I slept the entire flight...just in time for my coffee and muffin prior to landing. Kim however, sat awake the entire time. Good flight I thought...:) Tons more leg room than Air Transat!
Its a suprising 27C here today but a bit overcast.
ok....check it out....while picking up our baggage the conveyor stops after about half the bags come out...10 mins goes by.....we are both getting antsy, only to find that a loose strap from my bag got caught in the dumb thing before ripping it off and putting a fist size rip in my bag....Oops!...my bad (blush)
Found a shuttle to the hotel that made only 2 stops before ours...awesome.
Hotel Londra-Cargill....nice place ...nothing fancy but clean and in the midst of all the tourist stuff. Perfect!
Its about 3pm now...gonna clean, go get a bite to eat.....a beer and do some sight seeing baby ya!

Sadly this blog reads in reverse. To see the trip from the start you need to scroll to the bottom and work back up.

Cinque Terre

How lucky are we with the weather??!!  Was supposed to rain yesterday and it was hot and sunny and again today. Today we took the train to Riomaggiore to do the coastal walk to Manarola and then on to Corniglia. We were going to take the train to Monterossa al Mare to spend the rest of the day on the beach.
The first leg of the walk from Riomaggiore to Manarola was pretty easy and less perilous than our walk the day before....but equally as picturesque. We stopped for a coffee and a gelati about half way at a cliffside cafe called "Bar dell' Amore.  This particular trail was call Via dell' Amore....the street of Love....people have hung locks which signifies locking there love or something like that..key to your heart type of thing....and the lovers chair.  You sit in the chair and kiss your love. Blah! Goofy...but chicks dig it...whatever.....
Once we reached Manarola, Joe and Yvonne boarded the train to continue as they have done that walk previously during another trip to Italy.
Kim and I started the trip and got about 15mins into it only to find out the trail was closed due to dangerous conditions. We turned around and jumped back on the train and finished the trip that way aswell.
Spent the day on the beach which was fab...hot, sunny and about 28C. I went into the ocean for a dip and was nearly eaten by sea creatures......if not for a lady calling to me to tell me that I was about to swim into a school of Jellyfish.....they sting like crazy and there were tons of them!!. The locals try to catch them in nets or fling them onto the shore with sticks to clear the water for swimming. Hey knock yourself out! I'm staying on shore thanks.
Found a great little restaurant called Mikys...the food was one of the best we have had yet. Found a new dessert called "zeppole"....pastry with vanilla and berries and whipped cream...yummy!!
Hmmmm...maybe tomorrow again???  Going to the beach for some more sun.
